MML - Overview
MML's track record over more than twenty years demonstrates our ability to add value and deliver sustainable improvements.
Methodologies
We do not believe in a “one size fits all” approach, so we do not, therefore, impose a standard methodology on our assignments. Every assignment is unique and we tailor our mix of services to fit each client’s needs. We focus on outcomes, taking a practical view of what can be achieved and how.
Approach
We work closely with the client’s staff as part of a joint team. Our role is to provide support and advice whilst ensuring that, importantly, the ownership remains firmly with the client. Our role is to:
- help them to understand where the improvement opportunities lie;
- give them the new tools and techniques they need to leverage the opportunities;
- develop their skill in using the tools effectively.
This approach has proved its ability to embed knowledge in a practical way that ensures benefits are sustainable.
Areas of Work
Principal areas in which we work are:
- identifying improvement opportunities, from an assessment of business process effectiveness and robustness using a structure diagnostic process;
- optimising business processes, especially the Order Fulfilment process;
- applying Lean processes, including the effective integration of ERP and Lean techniques;
- improving the planning and control of manufacturing, inventory and the supply-chain.
Delivering Benefits
Clients use our services to address specific objectives and to achieve measurable improvements.
Examples of benefits actually achieved include:
- increased output, by as much as 40 percent;
- four-fold reduction in late deliveries;
- major reductions in lead time, from weeks to days;
- multi-million pound inventory reductions.
In addition, we have helped many clients to develop their own continuous improvement capability, both for business processes and for physical operations, that have enabled them to deliver on-going benefits after our work has finished.
Clients
Working with over 1000 companies, including large multi-nationals and world-class organisations, MML has established a track record for delivering high quality advice and support.
Although we work mainly for manufacturing and supply chain businesses, we have supported a wide range of other organisations in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.
